EGIS 901643 Relay / Contactor (75A)

Our EGIS 901643 is an excellent, high quality and hefty 75A relay.  It has tabs for easy surface mounting, and is single pole single throw.  The contacts are Normally Open (NO).

The purpose of a relay:  To switch high current loads with a low current switch.  Basically, turn on big stuff with little switches.

This relay is derated with temperature (see spec sheet below for complete details):

• 75A at 23°C
• 50A at 85°C
• 20A at 125°C

If you’re experiencing smaller relays heating up on those higher loads, or pushing the current rating of a smaller relay this relay may be a great choice.

The coil (trigger signal) is very easy to connect with 0.250″ Quick Connect Terminals.  The contacts sport hefty M5 18-8 Zinc Plated Contact Screws

On boats, this would be a great good for a remote master house disconnect (like when you want a “main” switch on the panel) – or any case where you’re switching a really high current load (like a massive light bar, or stereo amp, or windlass) with a rocker or push button switch on the panel.

This relay has IP54 Ingress protection, which carries some water resistance, but is not considered waterproof.  It would be best to use one of our waterproof relays if there is likelyhood that this relay will be getting sprayed with water.

The 901643 is the 12V relay and should be used on 12V nominal systems only.
