Boat Cup Holders
Boat Cup Holders Built for the Marine Environment
A boat cup holder seems like a small thing until the factory insert cracks, the chrome lip starts pitting, or the drain hole rusts shut on a Sunday. The cupholders on this page are built to outlast the boats they go in — 304 stainless steel and HDPE construction, finishes that hold up to salt and sun, proper drains, and padded interiors that grip everything from a beer can to a 30 oz tumbler. Drop-in installs take five minutes into the standard 3.5″ cutout. The fabricated assemblies surface-mount with suction cups or screws — no hole-saw required.
Drop-In Cupholders — Stainless or Matte Black, Polished or Blackout
Most cup holders ship in one finish and that’s it. Ours come in two real options for the drop-in line: polished 304 stainless for a classic look, and PVD matte black for the blackout/murdered-out helms that are running everything else dark. The PVD coating isn’t paint and it isn’t powder coat — it’s a permanent physical-vapor-deposition finish bonded to the stainless underneath, so it won’t flake when a tumbler bottom drags across it, won’t chalk in the sun, and won’t change shade after a season. If you’re building a blackout package — black hardtop, black bow rails, black hardware — these are the cupholders that match.
Lit Cup Holders — Something Most Brands Don’t Make
Lit cup holders are an upgrade you don’t realize you want until you’re running at night or sitting at the sandbar after dark. Our RGB-lighted cupholders pair the same 304 stainless body and drain hardware with a multi-color LED ring beneath the lip — wire them into an existing courtesy or accent lighting circuit and they change color with the rest of your lighting. Stainless and plastic-ring options available, both using the same standard 3.5″ cutout, so you can mix-and-match polished, matte black, and lit across the helm.
HDPE Cupholder Assemblies — More Than Just a Drink Spot
Sometimes you need more than a single insert. Our fabricated HDPE cupholder assemblies pack two or three drink wells alongside a center storage cubby, phone slots, and other features into one unit — surface-mount with the included suction cups for portable use that moves boat-to-boat, or screw it down for a permanent install. Built from marine-grade HDPE in our Charleston shop, with white and matte black bodies to match the rest of your helm, these are the assemblies for cockpits, bow seating, leaning posts, and anywhere a single cup holder wouldn’t be enough.
Standard Cutout, Easy Install
The drop-in cupholders use a 3.5″ diameter cutout — the standard most consoles already have. Mounting depth is roughly 4″, so check that you have clearance behind the panel before you cut. The unit drops in from the top, the lip seats against the panel surface, and the drain barb threads into the bottom. If you’re adding cupholders to a fresh panel, a 3.5″ hole saw and a level cut are all you need. The fabricated assemblies skip the cutout entirely — suction cups for portable, screws for permanent.
Customizable for Builders
If you’re an OEM, a refit shop, or a custom rigger building blackout packages or themed helms in volume, we can build cup holders to spec — matched finishes, custom anodizing or PVD colors, or custom HDPE assemblies paired with other helm components. Send a drawing or call and we’ll quote it. The same shop that designs and CNCs our custom dash and switch panels handles cupholder production runs, so anything we do for an OEM customer we can do for you.
Why Buy Cup Holders from New Wire Marine
We’re boaters first. The cup holders on this page are the same ones we put in our own helms — designed by people who run boats, fish them, and refit them. Our Charleston, SC shop is best known for custom dash and switch panels for individual boaters, refit shops, and OEM builders, and the same engineering and materials sourcing that goes into those panels goes into every cupholder we ship. Order one or order fifty — you’ll get a real person on the phone or email, a fast quote, and a 60-day return policy if it doesn’t work the way you hoped.
Expert Support
Picking the right cup holder isn’t just about the lip — it’s about the cutout you already have, the mounting depth behind the panel, the drain plumbing, the finish that matches the rest of your helm, and whether you want a drop-in insert, a fabricated assembly, or the lit version on your existing accent lighting circuit. If you’re unsure which option is right for your boat, our team can walk you through it.
Whether you’re replacing a single cracked insert, mounting a fabricated cupholder assembly to the leaning post, or wiring a full blackout RGB-lit helm, we’re here to make sure you get it right the first time.
