SEAready How To
Adding a horn to a SEAready switch panel is a simple switch-position upgrade, but a horn needs a different rocker than the standard latching ON-OFF switches used in most panel positions.
Quick answer
Use a momentary (ON)-OFF horn switch combo. Press the rocker to sound the horn. Release it to turn the horn off. Match the backlight color to the rest of your SEAready panel, then use the video below for the physical switch swap.
Why a horn needs a momentary switch
Standard SEAready switch
Most SEAready positions use a latching ON-OFF switch for accessories that need to remain on, such as lights, pumps, and electronics.
Horn switch combo
A horn needs a momentary switch instead. It only operates while you press the rocker, which gives the horn the expected press-and-release function.
Before you start
- Confirm you are working with a SEAready switch panel.
- Order a momentary horn switch combo, not a latching ON-OFF rocker.
- Match the horn switch backlight color to your existing panel.
- Use the video below to follow the physical switch swap and safe wire removal.
Important: A rocker cover labeled “Horn” is not enough by itself. Confirm that the switch body has the correct momentary function before installing it.
