DEX7 Marine Multimeter
DEX7 is our flagship 7-input marine multimeter designed to deliver total electrical insight in one compact display. It’s available in multiple kit configurations, from basic voltage monitoring to full AC/DC current monitoring with optional sensors.
DEX7 Accessories
These accessories allow you to expand or simplify your DEX7 installation. Add a DC shunt to measure battery current, a current transformer to monitor AC shore power, or keyed pigtails for an easy plug-in wiring connection. Everything is available individually, so you can build the system that fits your boat.
All about
DEX7 Marine Grade Multimeter
Understanding Marine Electrical Monitoring
Modern boats rely on both DC and AC electrical systems. DC power runs your batteries, pumps, lights, and electronics. AC power typically comes from shore power or a generator. Monitoring both systems gives you real visibility into how your boat is performing electrically.
The DEX7 Marine Multimeter consolidates multiple monitoring functions into one compact 2-1/16″ gauge. Instead of installing separate voltmeters, ammeters, bilge monitors, and hour meters, DEX7 provides a centralized display that reduces dash clutter while increasing capability.
DC Voltage vs. DC Current (Amps)
Most boats only display battery voltage. While voltage is helpful, it doesn’t tell the full story. DC current monitoring shows how much power your boat is actually using or in real time. This allows you to verify see accessory draw and understand battery usage under load.
To measure DC current, a shunt is required. The shunt installs in line with the battery cable and allows the DEX7 to safely calculate amps without carrying high current through the gauge.
Monitoring AC Shore Power
If your boat uses shore power or a generator, monitoring AC current is just as important. AC amp monitoring helps prevent overloaded circuits and confirms that shore power is functioning properly, both voltage and frequency.
To measure AC current, a current transformer (CT) is used. The CT goes around a single hot conductor and allows safe, accurate current measurement without modifying the main cable.
Built for Retrofit or New Install
Because DEX7 fits a standard 2-1/16″ gauge cutout, it’s ideal for upgrading older analog voltmeters or ammeters. It provides modern monitoring capability without requiring a full dash redesign.
Whether you’re adding current monitoring for the first time or replacing multiple legacy gauges, DEX7 offers a streamlined, marine-grade solution built for real-world boating environments.
