Rocker Switch Gasket
These rocker switch gaskets are made of foam and help seal the hole and assist in preventing water from seeping behind the panel through the switch hole.
These are particularly useful when you are cutting your own switch holes.
As simple as you can imagine installing… just place it around the switch body before you insert the switch into the hole.
Note, this is NOT needed to protect our marine-grade rocker switches from water intrusion. Â Every switch we carry is already IP68 sealed waterproof. Â This gasket helps to prevent water from seeping behind your dash around the switch hole for specific thicknesses of panel materials.
Recommended Panel Thickness Range
.030 to .109 & .147 to .157 (.76 to 2.77mm & 3.73 to 3.98mm)
No gasket recommended with panel thickness of exactly
.032, .062, .093, .125, .187 or .250

Switch gasket sealing
I think these are needed for the switch to seat properly in the panels. I also think they could be a bit thicker so they would seal around the switch. The gasket fits very loose and I'm sure water will pass around it easily.
