Product Description

NMEA 2000 1-Way Tee Connector (Single Tee)

The NMEA 2000 1-Way Tee Connector from Bluewater provides a clean, reliable way to add a single NMEA 2000 device to your backbone. This “Single Tee” uses standard 5-pin Micro-C connectors and creates one drop connection point for a chartplotter, sensor, engine gateway, radio, autopilot, or any other NMEA 2000-certified device.

Built with marine-grade, fully molded construction, this Tee is designed to handle harsh onboard conditions, including vibration, moisture, and salt exposure. It is fully compatible with all major NMEA 2000 systems, including Garmin, Simrad, Lowrance, Raymarine (via Micro-C adapters), B&G, Humminbird (NMEA-equipped units), Yamaha Command Link, and many, many more.

Installers often stack several 1-way tees together to build out a device area, while using dedicated NMEA 2000 backbone cables when they simply need to extend the backbone. Some boaters refer to tees or short cables as a “backbone extender,” but the primary role of this connector is to provide a single device drop from the main NMEA 2000 backbone.

Key Features

  • Standard 5-pin Micro-C NMEA 2000 1-way Tee (Single Tee)
  • Provides one dedicated device drop from the backbone
  • Marine-grade molded housing for waterproof, corrosion-resistant performance
  • Compact design ideal for helm stations, dashboards, and junction boxes
  • Fully compatible with all certified NMEA 2000 networks and brands
  • Can be stacked with additional tees for clean, modular network layouts

Whether you’re installing a new NMEA 2000 network or adding one more device to an existing backbone, the NMEA 2000 1-Way Tee Connector (Single Tee) provides a simple, dependable, and plug-and-play connection point for any compatible device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this connector compatible with Garmin, Simrad, Lowrance, and Raymarine?

Yes. This Single Tee uses the standard 5-pin Micro-C connector used by all major NMEA 2000 equipment, including Garmin, Simrad, Lowrance, Raymarine (via Micro-C adapters), B&G, Humminbird (NMEA-equipped units), Yamaha Command Link, and many, many more.

How many devices can I connect with a 1-way Tee?

A 1-way Tee (Single Tee) provides one device drop. That means you can connect one NMEA 2000 device—such as a chartplotter, sensor, gauge, or engine interface—to your backbone from this connector.

Can I use this as a backbone extender?

Kind of.  A Tee is designed to add device drops, not to extend the backbone more than about one inch. To lengthen the backbone to another location on the boat, you would normally use an NMEA 2000 backbone cable (although a drop cable can be used for short distances). However, multiple tees and short cables are sometimes used together in a tight area to act like a small backbone hub.

Does the Tee need to be installed in a specific orientation?

No special orientation is required. The Micro-C connectors are keyed and will only mate in the correct position. In most layouts, the top of the “T” (one male and one female) connectors join the backbone, and the bottom female port is used to attach a drop cable going to the connected device.

Is this Tee waterproof?

Yes. It features an IP67 waterproof molded housing designed for harsh marine environments, including vibration, spray, and salt exposure.

Can I stack multiple 1-way Tees together?

Yes. You can install several Single Tees in series to add more device drops in the same area, or combine them with 2-way, 3-way, or 4-way Tees for a cleaner, more compact layout.
