Genuine Carling Contura II rocker switch labeled “Hatch”.   This Hatch rocker switch is a Double Pole Double Throw (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch, where (ON) represents a momentary function.  All of New Wire Marine’s rocker switches are labeled with durable UV stabilized ink and large format text.
This product is the ENTIRE SWITCH combo and includes both the switch body and the labeled cover.  Find the Hatch switch cover sold separately here.
Our hatch rocker switch is unlit. The lens shown on the actuator is only there to match other switches (commonly in a bank). If illumination is required, please purchase the hatch actuator and appropriate switch separately.
Our hatch switch can be wired to control a linear actuator by reversing polarity on the electric motor. Â Perfect for a Lenco or similar latch lift.
This Hatch rocker switch will replace any Carling V-series or Contura style rocker switch. Â That includes Contura style switches sold by Carling, Sierra, Blue Sea Systems, Sea-Dog, etc. Â It uses an industry-standard 1.45″ Â x 0.83″ mounting hole.
What does this mean in real life? Â This is an exceptionally high-quality rocker switch from the industry-leading manufacturer, Carling Technologies. Â This switch will last many years in the harsh marine environment.

This Hatch rocker switch has 6 terminals on the back:
A hard copy of the wiring diagram will be shipped with this switch.  Find it in the product images above, or download a PDF wiring diagram here.
This Hatch rocker switch is a Contura II style, as pictured above. Â Contura II is the one with the small bumps on it. Â We carry printed Contura II’s in red and blue lens options (selection from the menu above).
We also carry this label in Contura V style switch here. Â The Contura V style includes a two-lamp switch, which allows a great backlighting effect for night readability.
As an (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch this is meant to raise and lower an automatic hatch, or engine cover. Â Usually, by reversing polarity to a linear actuator, this hatch rocker switch will be perfect for that purpose.
