The PW101 is a compact, all-in-one solution designed for twin engine boats with dual starting batteries and single house battery. It includes a dual ACR, providing automatic charging and start battery isolation, all housed behind a sealed opaque door for protection against water and UV degradation.

The PW101 PowerBox’s compact design allows versatile installation in aft battery compartments, through the console wall, or inside an interior bulkhead. Designed for twin engine boats with two starting batteries and one house battery, it includes an opaque door. For a clear door, check out the PW102.

PW101 Twin Engine Battery Management System Features:

Automatic Charging & Battery Isolation for Twin Engines:

The PW101 features automatic house battery charging via our EGIS twin engine ACR (Automatic Charging Relay).  This innovative product uses voltage sensing technology, it knows when the engines are running and directs the starting batteries to combine with the house battery for charging once the start batteries are full. No need to manually combine batteries while underway, or manually isolate them while at the sand bar.

DIP switches can be used to set your combine voltage level if desired (12.75V default and recommended in most cases).  Start isolation conductors available if desired, as well as an external LED trigger wire (full details here).  This 80A (continuous) 120A (5min) per circuit ACR is bulletproof from EGIS and features an incredibly low 1.3mA operating current.

The EGIS ACR can also be used at the dock, allowing you to use a single 2 bank shore power charger applied only to the start batteries to maintain the house battery (no 3-bank charger required).

Emergency Parallel:

With the onboard ACR, you probably will never need this feature – but just in case, the PW101 comes equipped with 6011 dual circuit switches, the system provides the option to combine batteries for additional cranking power in case of emergencies.

Turn the “Engine” switch to COMBINE to parallel the port and starboard engine, or both switches to COMBINE and add the house battery in as well.  Connected with a 250A continuous rated battery lining bus bar for max voltage to your engines.

Easy Installation for Twin Engine Boats:

We’ve designed the PW101 with style, function and ease of installation in mind.  All internal components come pre-wired. This system is ideal for boats looking to improve weight distribution by moving batteries from the transom to the console or for setups where battery switches are hard to reach.

Template provided for hole cutout.  Mounting screws (4 required, not included) are countersunk.  Choose wood/self tapping or machine screws as appropriate for the material and thickness being mounted too.  Recommend sealing caulk around perimeter.

The only electrical connections are:

1. Port Battery Positive Cable
2. Stbd Engine Positive Cable
3. Stbd Battery Positive Cable
4. House Positive Battery Cable
5. House load positive conductor
6. Negative

NOTE: The negative pin on the ACR is built into a Molex MX-150 Male receptacle, but comes with a pre-built adapter to an AT04-4P deutsch style connector (mating connector here).  If you don’t want to use the connector, just cut it off and butt connect onto the black negative wire.  The following additional wires are optional (system will work without them):

• Blue – start isolation 1 (tie into start circuit, to force relay open while starting), optional
• White – start isolation 2 (tie into start circuit, to force relay open while starting), optional
• Brown – external output to drive an LED (400mA max) to indicate when ACR #2 is active, optional
